Curling in Cincinnati began in 2010 by four Canadian transplants who missed playing the game they loved as their careers had taken them from Canada down to Cincinnati. A couple of sets of rocks were borrowed for some Post-Olympic Learn to Curls at the Indian Hill Winter Club. After that it took a little bit to get completely organized, but things started to grow quickly.
The demand for ice time quickly became too much for the IHWC to accomodate, so most (though not all) of the curlers left to form a curling club at ice elsewhere.
The curling club officially started to collect dues in 2012. Since that time, the club has grown from 4 official members up to as many as 96, has taught over 1,000 people a Learn to Curl class, hosted many dozen corporate curling outings, and organized adult curling leagues, youth curling leagues and instructional curling leagues.
We have had the opportunity to curl in some fashion locally at the Cincinnati Gardens, Indian Hill Winter Club, Sports Plus, Goggin Ice Center at Miami University, Fountain Square, Summit Park and Sports Plus, and starting in the Fall of 2019, we will finally have our own ice at 5150 Duff Drive.
